Sailing In Sicily

Full Xperience*

Private Sailing

Imagine waking up to the sight of a smoking volcano, diving into water so clear you can see the seabed ten metres below, and finishing the day with homemade pasta and a glass of Malvasia wine at a harbour trattoria. Your week loops through the seven pearls of the Aeolian archipelago — a UNESCO World Heritage site of volcanic islands scattered across the Tyrrhenian Sea just north of Sicily. You board on Saturday in Portorosa, spend six days between black-sand beaches, bubbling mud baths, whitewashed villages, and lava shows at night, and return to base on Friday. Your skipper knows every anchorage and every village worth lingering in. You just bring the appetite.

What You’ll Discover

Your Aeolian Route

Stromboli & Vulcano — The Fire Islands

Stromboli is one of the most active volcanoes in Europe, and watching its eruptions from the deck of your catamaran at night is a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle. By day, you can hike the lower slopes, explore the tiny car-free village of Ginostra, and swim off beaches of jet-black volcanic sand. Vulcano, usually your first stop from Portorosa, offers therapeutic mud baths and dramatic fumaroles right at the water's edge — a volcanic spa you reach by dinghy.

Filicudi & the Sicilian Coast

Filicudi is the most remote and unspoiled of the main Aeolians — a rugged island with one tiny port, dramatic sea stacks, and the Grotta del Bue Marino, a sea cave with impossibly blue water you can snorkel through. Back on the Sicilian coast, Portorosa sits in a sheltered lagoon surrounded by citrus groves, and a short detour to Tindari reveals a Greek-Roman archaeological site perched on a dramatic cliff above the natural lagoon of Marinello.

Lipari, Salina & Panarea — Village Life

Lipari is the liveliest of the Aeolians, with a bustling harbour, an archaeological museum, and panoramic viewpoints that stretch across the entire archipelago. Salina is the green, lush counterpart — famous for its capers, its Malvasia sweet wine, and twin volcanic peaks perfect for hiking. Panarea, the smallest and most exclusive island, is all whitewashed lanes, bougainvillea, and serene anchorages ideal for a long afternoon swim.

Pricing

A 7-day exclusive sailing trip starts at 12.500€ and it can go up to 30.500€ depending on your yacht, provisioning preferences, the destination and period

You’ve probably noticed the * next to the “Full Xperience” on this page, and here’s the deal: our main goal is for you to think more about the adventure and less about nickel and dimming and in doing so we’ve implemented a special boat-fund called the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA)

The APA amount will always be added on top of the base yacht charter cost.

The Full Xperience* yacht charter base price covers the rental of the vessel with her crew. Our dream vacation starts with mimosas each-day all-day. If yours is to the same tune this is where the APA comes in clutch.

The Advance Provisioning Allowance is used to pay for provisions on board, special customers’ requests, fuel and other variable costs. The APA is a standard system, like an onboard box, managed on your behalf by the Captain. The crew uses this money to buy any products of your choice, or pay for water-taxis, port fees, communication fees and other expenses that are typically almost impossible to estimate, some of you will drink mimosas all day like us, others will prefer a light non-alcoholic sun-downer. The APAs for the two groups will be totally different.

So, how does this APA thing work?

This is a transparent budget management, and all the receipts are available upon request. The Captain can present a detailed breakdown of all the expenses during the trip or after. On the last day of your charter, the remaining unused funds of the APA are reimbursed in full to the clients.

APA is an important part of the total cost of your charter for two reasons:

  1. It usually represents between 20% to 30% of the yacht charter base price.

  2. You’re paying this in advance, at the time of booking.

Rule of thumb: estimate your APA on the high side; all the unused credit will be refunded.
