Route

Highlights

Starting near Cork, we explore the best of Ireland's Southern Coast: the historic port of Kinsale, the dramatic scenery of West Cork, and the open sea passage to the Fastnet Lighthouse.

  • Dublin

Dublin is a vibrant city known for its rich literary history and its famously warm pub culture. We encourage you to start with the ancient Book of Kells at Trinity College, wander down the lively Grafton Street, and, of course, make your pilgrimage to the Guinness Storehouse—where your included ticket grants you panoramic views of the city from the Gravity Bar. As the sun sets, we’ll find a cozy corner in a traditional pub to experience a genuine Irish music session before our sailing adventure.

  • Cork

    Cork

Maritime History and Culinary Charm As Ireland's second-largest city, Cork offers a perfect blend of historic maritime heritage and a buzzing modern, culinary scene. Located on the River Lee, the city is famous for its unique layout and vibrant atmosphere. Cork is our starting point to prepare for our sailing experience, offering an authentic taste of Southern Irish life and its celebrated food culture.

  • Kinsale

    Kinsale

Kinsale is arguably the most beautiful and historic harbour town on Ireland's South Coast, making it a perfect port of call for sailors. Rich with maritime history, the town is guarded by the impressive star-shaped Charles Fort, a must-see landmark that offers spectacular views over Kinsale Harbour. Beyond its historical significance, Kinsale is celebrated as the "Gourmet Capital of Ireland," boasting an incredible array of cozy pubs, award-winning seafood restaurants, and artisan shops. Docking here provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy a top-tier meal and soak up the lively, colorful atmosphere before sailing toward Fastnet.

  • Fastnet Lighthouse

    Fastnet

Known famously as "Ireland's Teardrop" because it was the last piece of Ireland seen by emigrants heading to the New World, the Fastnet Lighthouse is a powerful symbol of nautical resilience and the gateway to the Atlantic. Rising dramatically from a small rock outcrop far offshore, this spectacular lighthouse is the turning point for the famous Fastnet Race, one of the world's most demanding offshore challenges. Sailing around it in a cruising style offers an unparalleled sense of accomplishment, connecting you directly to Ireland's rich maritime history and the raw, untamed beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way.

  • west cork

    West Cork

Beyond the open sea passage near Fastnet lies West Cork, recognized as one of the best and most beautiful cruising grounds in Ireland. This area is characterized by deep, sheltered bays, charming fishing villages, and lush green landscapes that tumble down to the water's edge. Here, you'll experience a gentler pace of sailing, finding perfect anchorages for quiet overnight stops and enjoying the genuine hospitality of the smaller, traditional towns. It's the perfect place to drop anchor, take a walk ashore, and truly soak up the wild, unspoiled beauty of the Irish coastline.

Tips

Tricks

&

• Ahoy there! If you're planning a sailing adventure, it's time to channel your inner minimalist and pack like a pirate. Remember, space is precious on board, so leave those unnecessary items (looking at you, inflatable flamingo) at home. Instead, focus on bringing weather-appropriate clothing, because nobody wants to be caught in a storm wearing flip flops and a tank top. So, pack light and set sail for the high seas - just don't forget the eye patch!

• Attention all thrill-seekers! Before you dive headfirst into your adrenaline-fueled adventure, take a moment to remember that safety always comes first. That means actually reading and following the rules, even if you're convinced you're invincible. We get it, rules can be a total buzzkill, but so is a trip to the emergency room. So keep safety in mind and let the good times roll. After all, a minor injury is a small price to pay for a major adventure... said no one ever.
